Top 15 Best PS4 Single Player Games Recommended to Play

By J K October 11, 2021

The best PS4 single player games can transport us to imaginative worlds without the hassle of untrustworthy individuals or shaky internet connections.

With the current hardware pushing the bounds of what's possible on console and PC further than ever before. There are now so many amazing PS4 single-player games out there waiting to be discovered, free of the multiplayer sphere's ever-changing seasons and endless weekly upgrades.

List of The Best PS4 Single Player Games

We've created a list of some of the best PS4 single-player games that you might be willing to play.

1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The rest of The Witcher 3 may be regarded as excellent if you can get your head around a totally new kind of fighting that breaks most of the patterns found in earlier games. To you and me, you are Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher, also known as a monster killer.

The Witcher 3 has so much to do and see that it may seem daunting at first, but once you finish your few first monster contracts and start Geralt's quest to find the ones he loves, you won't be able to put it down until you've reached the end and murdered thousands of enemies.

2. The Last Of Us 2

To be honest, The Last of Us might have easily been named here, but its sequel, The Last of Us 2, improves on the original premise in every way. Expect themes of love, grief, and more breath-taking moments than a handmade Molotov cocktail can handle, just like its predecessor.

The original game in the series was not without themes of humanity and morality, but the sequel amps them up to 11 and is all the better for it.

3. Horizon Zero Dawn

Robot Dinosaurs. Is there anything else we can say? Probably not, but we'll go ahead and do it anyhow. Take control of Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn, an open-world role-playing game in which she learns about herself and her past.

From little Watchers to frightening Snapmaws and Thunderjaws, robot dinosaurs abound in the countryside. Horizon Zero Dawn rarely fails to impress, from the numerous methods to engage in battle to traveling across the world and exploring the diverse tribes that have established homes and villages in every corner.

4. Red Dead Redemption 2

Is there a more appropriate way to begin this list than with Rockstar's western epic? Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to the first game that puts you in the shoes of Arthur Morgan.

While strolling around as part of Dutch van der Linde's gang, explore the breathtakingly magnificent wild west on horseback, hunt animals, play poker, go fishing, and more. Jump into Red Dead Online once you've accomplished the 80+ hour journey for even more wild west action.

5. Kingdom Hearts 3

When you can travel through many Disney worlds with Donald Duck and Goofy by your side, who needs a significant other? Kingdom Hearts 3 is the franchise's long-awaited third edition, and it does not disappoint.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is a lengthy JRPG that is suited for veterans and beginners to the series equally, from climbing the North Mountain in Arendelle (Frozen) to exploring Andy's Room in Toy Box (Toy Story) and flying about San Fransokyo (Big Hero 6).

6. Super Mario Odyssey

Top 15 Best PS4 Single Player Games Recommended to Play

With Super Mario Odyssey, everyone's favorite plumber and his new best friend Cappy jumped onto the Nintendo Switch with a goal. Set off on a perilous trip over many worlds to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser's clutches, and meet a variety of friendly and terrifying characters along the way.

While keeping up with modern gameplay elements and introducing new mechanics, Super Mario Odyssey keeps the charm and engaging gameplay of earlier installments.

7. Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

It would be an understatement to suggest that Assassin's Creed has become stale in recent years. Thankfully, Ubisoft listened to our complaints for its 12th mainline adventure.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla abandons the series' tiresome forced stealth in favor of a grin-inducing historical power fantasy, allowing players to embrace the fury of a blood-soaked Viking.

Valhalla's head cleaving, fortress toppler is a breath of fresh air after years of climbing towers and walking incredibly slowly behind foes. Valhalla's Ye Olde England is a place to truly immerse oneself in, with the most lifelike and varied open world to date from Ubisoft, as well as surprisingly weighty combat.

8. God of War

Top 15 Best PS4 Single Player Games Recommended to Play

God of War has always been a fantastic series, but God of War PS4 has elevated things to a new level. It's transformed from a linear tale to a semi-open world in which players take control of Kratos and explore worlds based on Norse mythology. We dubbed it one of "PlayStation's finest moments" because it's harsh, badass, and bafflingly beautiful.

9. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Who'd have guessed that the Zelda series would be the first to present one of the best open worlds in gaming history? The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Zelda's debut adventure on the Nintendo Switch, and it's one of his best. There's a lot to be done! Breath of the Wild is the best RPG on Switch right now, from looking for the 900 Korok Seeds to hunting down Guardians and completing shrines.

10. Control

Remedy's latest foray into the bizarre is the studio's strangest and best work to date. Putting you in the shoes of Jesse, the recently appointed Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, it's up to you to explore the depths of the bureau's headquarters, the Oldest House, which is as eerie, magical, and mysterious as it sounds.

Control is a preternatural pill of kaleidoscopic devastation, with its supernaturally flavoured third-person shooter combat, delectably off-kilter story, and truly jaw-dropping visuals, with each moment managing to exceed the last in its pure, surreal splendor. Without giving too much away, Alan Wake fans will not want to miss this one.

11. Football Manager 2021

Football Manager 2021

Football Manager 2021 is the most advanced addition in the football/soccer management simulation series in years. What started out as Championship Manager many moons ago has gradually evolved into the stats-heavy, tactics-tinkering dream we have today, and it simply keeps getting better.

Football Manager 2021 has it all, whether you wish to play as one of the world's top teams - like, say, Celtic – and dominate Scottish football and beyond, or start from the bottom of lower league English football and work your way up.

12. Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Top 15 Best PS4 Single Player Games Recommended to Play

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a wonderful story. There are times when you'll wonder how a platformer managed to create such an amazing experience. You'll be weeping like a willow from the beginning when you're reintroduced to Ori, Naru, and Sein, as well as the equally cute new character, Ku.

Moon Studios manages to polish and perfect everything that was fantastic about Ori and the Blind Forest in terms of gameplay, adding fresh depth and excitement to combat, exploration, and platforming. From beginning to end, this is an amazing adventure.

13. Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Although the current generation of consoles had a rough start, Spider-Man Miles Morales was an obvious launch highlight. This 15-hour standalone adventure picks up where 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man left off, putting players in the shoes of the other Spider-Man. Not only is Insomniac's second Spider-Man game stunning, but it's also a blast to play.

Miles Morales' Christmas-time Harlem is an absolute joy to swing around, stepping up the quality of cinematic storytelling and providing players with a toy box full of new suit upgrades to play with. Look no farther if you're looking for something entertaining and story-driven.

14. Resident Evil 2 Remake

At first, we were skeptical of Capcom's announcement of Resident Evil 2 Remake, but we couldn't have been more wrong. The studio's love remake of its 1990s survival horror classic is the perfect example of how to modernize an old game while remaining faithful to its roots.

Leon's perilous journey through the Raccoon City Police Department is one of the scariest, most difficult campaigns we've ever had the pleasure of experiencing, entirely accessible to series beginners while also brimming with easter eggs to thrill Resi fans. This is how horror is done, and it confirms that Capcom's seminal franchise still has a lot of life in it.

On May 7, 2021, Resident Evil Village was released to tremendous hype, although it didn't quite reach the same heights as the reinvention of the second main series entry, despite being fantastic in several areas.

15. The Outer Worlds

The Outer Worlds

You're in for a treat with The Outer Worlds if you've never played an Obsidian game before. The studio's most recent new IP is a haphazard, zigzagging tour through the future of the final frontier, one in which corporations rule, and it's as lighthearted and joyful in tone as it is caustic in humor.

Obsidian's knack for classic role-playing immersion is on full display here, with branching stories, rich and extensive character customisation, and a slew of new friends to befriend and explore the galaxy with. We're hoping that The Outer Worlds is only the beginning of many more adventures in Halcyon, because we've already enjoyed what Obsidian has shown us.

These are some of the best PS4 single player games collections GDgames version. That you may choose as one of your game options. How? Do you want to try out some of the single-player games listed above?
